RANSOM opens. Directed by Ron Howard. From a screenplay by Richard Price and Aleksander Ignon, based on the 1954 telemovie Fearful Decision and the subseuent 1956 film written by Cyril Hume and Richard Maibaum. An airline magnate wildly gambles on a radical counter negotiation strategy when his young son is kidnapped & held for ransom. Solidly crafted remake of the equally excellent 1956 original with Mel Gibson in compelling performance. Also starring Rene Russo, Gary Sinise, Delroy Lindo and Lili Taylor.
