Michael Ritchie’s directorial debut, Downhill Racer premieres in New York. Written by James Salter from Oakley Hall’s 1963 novel, Robert Redford stars as a talented downhill skier whose arrogant air of entitlement  and win-at-all-costs attitude wins him no friends when he joins the US ski team competing in prestigious European competitions in the lead-up to the Olympics. Gene Hackman, Camilla Sparv and Dabney Coleman co-star.
