Written by Joss Whedon, and directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, ALIEN RESURRECTION, the fourth installment in the series, opens wide. Set some 200 years after the events of part 3, the premise this time posits Sigourney Weaver's Ripley as a resurrected, ass-kicking human/alien clone exhibiting disturbing conflicting loyalties and a penchant for one-liners. Appropriately gore-laden but largely disappointing entry in a franchise facing exhaustion.
