Anthony Mann’s The Heroes Of Telemark has its world premiere in London. Written by Ben Barzman and Ivan Moffat from the novels Skis Against the Atom by Knut Haukelid and But For These Men by John Drummond, the film, set in 1943, recounts the true story of a group of Norwegian resistance fighters who are tasked with sabotaging a Hydro plant in Norway where the Nazis are manufacturing hard water to build an atomic bomb. Kirk Douglas and Richard Harris head up the suicide mission. A solid albeit Hollywoodised war drama filmed on location.
