Scripted by Anne Rice from her same-titled 1976 novel, and directed by Neil Jordan, Interview With The Vampire opens nationally. Stretching from the sub-tropical mists of an antebellum Louisiana plantation to the eldritch horrors of a vampiric coven in Paris, the film charts the onerous, multi-decade relationship between uber vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Tom Cruise) and his vulnerable, conscience-stricken apprentice Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt). A stylish, atmospheric, star-driven genre exercise with enough blood and viscera to rival the best from the Hammer Horror vault.
