DIABOLIQUE opens. Dir.Jeremiah Chechik. Written by Don Roos. Based on the Henri -Georges Clouzot screenplay adapted from the novel She Who Was No More by Boileau-Narcejac. Clouzot's estimable 1955 thriller centering on a wife and mistress plotting the murder of their mutual paramour gets royally Hollywoodised with a surfeit of mildewed horror tropes straight out of the slasher movie playbook. Featuring Sharon Stone, Isabelle Adjani, Chazz Palminteri and Kathy Bates.
