RIO BRAVO opens in NY.  Directed by Howard Hawks. Written by Jules Furthman and Leight Brackett, from a story by B.H.McCampbell. A bad-ass Texan sheriff, an old timer with a gimpy leg, an alcoholic & a rookie young, guitar-playing gunfighter wannabe take a stand when a local powerful rancher tries to free his no-good brother from the local jailhouse.  The essential Hawks aesthetic encapsulated in a classic, archetypal, grandly entertaining John Wayne Western. Stoicism, loyalty, honor, redemption; when sorry "just don't get it done." With Dean Martin, Walter Brennan,  Ricky Nelson and Angie Dickinson.
