A long gestating, hard-edged script written by Joan Didion and John Gregory Dunne recounting the tragic, short-lived career of female news anchor Jessica Savitch, gets dumbed down into a glossy, generic rom-com awkwardly pairing youthful Michelle Pfieffer with ageing Robert Redford. Also starring Stockard Channing and Joe Mantegna.
