WOLF opens. Directed Mike Nichols, from a screenplay by Jim Harrison, Wesley Strick and an uncredited Elaine May. A put upon publishing executive (Jack Nicholson) aggressively reasserts his position in corporate jungle after a wolf bite turns him into a night-stalking werewolf. Restrained, mature horror allegory stoops to cliche in the final reel. With Michelle Pfeiffer and James Spader.
