TREMORS opens. Directed by Ron Underwood, from a screenplay by Brent Maddock and S. S. Wilson. Set in a dusty, isolated backwater in the Nevada desert, Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward star as a couple of wise-cracking, knockabout handymen who prove to be smarter and more resourceful than they look when they are forced to defend themselves against the predatory onslaught of several mutant subterranean sand worms. A wacky, inspired, warmly affectionate homage/throwback to the low budget B-rated monster movies of the 1950s. Co-starring Michael Gross and Reba McEntire as a couple of military-minded, armed-to-the-teeth survivalists
