THE NIGHTCOMERS opens. Directed by Michael Winner, from a screenplay by Michael Hastings. Winner's proclivity for the provacatively perverse is given full reign in a wintry, highly speculative prequel to Henry James' classic The Turn Of The Screw (filmed in 1961 as The Innocents) with Marlon Brando's dishevelled, brooding gardener and Stephanie Beecham's prim governess lustily dialing up the ill-fated sexual intrigue.
