The Vietnam war's fallout on the home front as personified by a young SoCal housewife who, after her officer husband (the excellent Bruce Dern)is deployed to Vietnam, becomes involved with a brittle paraplegic veteran. Admirable anti-war tract propped up by cliche courting love triangle. Oscar wins for Jane Fonda & Jon Voight.
