Written by Charles Schnee, from the play Beggars Are Coming by Theodore Reeves, and directed by Byron Haskin, I WALK ALONE premieres in Kansas City. Burt Lancaster stars as a former bootlegger who is released from prison after 14 years and  heads back to New York where he expects his now upwardly mobile old partner, played by Kirk Douglas, to cut him in on a share of his prosperous club operation. Lisabeth Scott completes the star combo as a sultry torch singer. A minor but solid noir drama.
