DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER premieres in NY. Directed by Guy Hamilton. Written by Richard Maibaum and Tom Mankiewicz, from the novel by Ian Fleming. Sean Connery surrenders his heretofore pre-eminent tenure as Bond with a whimper in a dull, self parodying, Las Vegas set caper whose unfortunate high camp hijinks merely serve as a prescient nod to Roger Moore's upcoming 007 reign. With Charles Gray and Jill St. John. Title song by Shirley Bassey.
