Vincente Minnelli's Two Weeks In Another Town, (an unofficial companion piece to 1952's The Bad And The Beautiful) loosely adapted from Irwin Shaw's same-titled 1960 novel by Charles Schnee, premieres in New York. Kirk Douglas stars as a washed up movie star who emerges from a stint in rehab and travels to Rome to try to reboot his career with a role in a director friend's movie. A florid, high camp melodrama steeped in self pity, vitriol and guilt, backdropped by the fading decadence of the eternal city's La Dolce Vita. With Edward G.
