A KISS BEFORE DYING opens. Writer/director Basil Dearden's repurposed, fair to middling remake of far superior 1957 original (sourced from Ira Levin's 1953 best seller) stars Matt Dillon as a mendacious, upwardly mobile executive who facilitates his relentless climb up the corporate ladder by cold-bloodedly murdering his inconveniently pregnant girlfriend (the bosses daughter) then taking up with her twin sister.
