Sidney Lumet's auspicious directorial debut, 12 Angry Men, adapted for the screen by Reginald Rose, from his own 1954 teleplay, premieres at the Fox Wilshire Theatre in Los Angeles. The eponymous "twelve" are jurors deliberating the guilt or innocence of an 18 year-old accused of stabbing his father to death.
